Former Super Eagles captain, Austin
Okocha has given the Super Eagles a passmark despite losing 2-0 to France in a
round of 16 match in Brasilia yesterday.
Speaking on SuperSport, Okocha
said,”the Eagles had a good tournament. They got to their limit and there was
nothing more to offer.”
Okocha refused to agree that Eagles’
disallowed first half goal contributed to their defeat. “No,” he said. “That
had nothing to do with our defeat. The boys did their best. They had the game
under control in the first half but the chances could not be utilised.
“We have to appreciate the
transformation this team has undergone under Keshi. They have done very well
and we must appreciate that fact.”
