Images of the women taking part in the challenge are being shared on Sina Weibo, a Chinese social media also known as ‘Chinese Twitter’. Social media users say the trend is wrong, worrying and projects an unrealistic body image.
For these women, their waists are literally paper thin. This new internet challenge involves comparing ones waist to the width of an A4 paper held in portrait mode. An A4 paper measures just 21 centimetres or 8.27 inches.
